How to forget/delete a Wi-Fi Network by device type

iPhone or iPad

To forget the network that you're currently using:

  1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
  2. Tap the info button  next to the network you're using.
  3. Tap Forget This Network, then tap Forget to confirm.

To forget a network that you've joined before but aren't currently using:

  1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
  2. Tap Edit in the corner of the screen to see the networks known to your device.
  3. Take either of these actions:
    • Tap the delete button , then tap Delete.
    • Or tap the info button  next to the network, tap Forget This Network, then tap Forget to confirm.

Mac devices

Follow the appropriate steps, depending on which macOS you're using.

macOS Ventura or later

To forget the network that you're currently using:

  1. Choose Apple menu > System Settings.
  2. Click Wi-Fi in the sidebar.
  3. Click Details next to the network you're using.
  4. Click Forget This Network, then click Remove to confirm.

To forget a network that you've joined before but aren't currently using:

  1. Choose Apple menu > System Settings.
  2. Click Wi-Fi in the sidebar.
  3. Scroll down on the right and click Advanced to see the networks known to your Mac.
  4. Click the more button  next to the network, choose Remove From List, then click Remove to confirm.

Earlier versions of macOS

  1. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences.
  2. Click Network.
  3. Click Wi-Fi in the sidebar.
  4. Click Advanced to see the networks known to your Mac. 
  5. Select the network, then click the remove button (–) beneath the list. Click Remove to confirm.
  6. Click OK, then click Apply.

Windows

These instructions cover Windows 10 and Windows 11.

  1. Click on the Wi-Fi icon next to the system clock in the bottom right hand corner of your screen. If you’re on Windows 10, progress to Step 3.
  2. On Windows 11, click on the Manage Wi-Fi Connection arrow displayed next to your current Wi-Fi connection.
  3. On the Wi-Fi menu, right-click on the network you want to forget.
  4. Select the Forget option on the pop-up menu.

Android (stock)

  1. Swipe a finger down from the top to expand the Notification Shade and tap on the “cog” icon.
  2. Tap Network & Internet.
  3. Tap Internet.
  4. Touch and hold on the Wi-Fi network you want to forget. Alternatively, you can tap on the “cog” icon next to the network’s name.
  5. Tap Forget.

Android (Samsung)

  1. Swipe a finger down from the top to expand the Notification Shade and tap on the “cog” icon.
  2. Tap Network & Internet.
  3. Tap Internet.
  4. Touch and hold on the Wi-Fi network you want to forget. Alternatively, you can tap on the “cog” icon next to the network’s name.
  5. Tap Forget.
