Things to know:
- Every device needs to connect to the internet using your username and password. You can find your username and password in the Lionstripe Dashboard by following these steps.
- You should have recieved an email giving you access to the Lionstripe Dashboard.
- Once you have your credentials, you can use the same password to access the internet from all your devices.
TIP: Please save your password somewhere so you can logon in the future.
Some versions of Windows require manual configuration when connecting to a secure Wi-Fi Network. If you try to connect using the first method below, and it does not work, you may need to go through
- Windows (most users)
- Windows 10 Wireless (Manual configuration)
- Windows 11 Wireless (Manual configuration)
How to get your Windows computer on the internet
Step 1: Click on the Wi-Fi icon your computer (usually found on bottom right hand corner).
Step 2: Find the Residents network. You should see the name of your building, followed by a dash and the word Residents like this: [PROPERTY]-Residents.
Step 3: Enter your username and password, and click OK.
Step 4: If asked whether to continue connecting, click Connect.
That's it! Now you should be connected to the internet.
Windows 10 Wireless Setup
Setting up WPA (802.1x authentication) for Windows 10
Step 1: From the desktop, right-click on the wireless icon on the bottom right corner of your desktop. Select Open Network and Sharing Center.
Step 2: In the Network and Sharing Center> select Setup a new connection or network
Step 3: Select Manually connect to a wireless network > Click Next
Step 4: Enter the information for the wireless network as shown below and click Next.
- Network Name: Enter the Network name found in the Lionstripe Dashboard (Example is [PROPERTY]-Residents)
- Security Type: WPA2-Enterprise
- Encryption Type: AE
Step 5: On the next screen > Click the Change connection settings box.
Step 6:. Click on the Security Tab on the top of the window.
Step 7: On the Security Tab > Under Choose a network authentication method Change it to be Microsoft: Protected EAP (PEAP) and Click Settings.
Step 8: Uncheck the Validate server certificate box and click Configure
Step 9: Uncheck the Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any) box, and click OK.
Step 10: Click on OK Again.
Step 11: Click on the Advanced Settings button
Step 12: On the 802.1x settings tab check the Specify authentication mode and set the mode to User Authentication.
Step 13: Click OK and Close the settings window.
Now you can connect to the network:
Step 14: Left click on the wireless symbol on the bottom right hand corner to bring up the Networks menu.
Step 15: Select and connect to the [PROPERTY]-Residents network.
Step 16: A prompt should appear to sign in. Type your username and password, found in the Lionstripe Dashboard.
Step 17: You should now be connected to the network.
Windows 11 Wireless Manual Configuration
Step 1: Open the Control Panel > Find the "View by" dropdown and select Small icons
Then click on Network and Sharing Center
Step 2: Under Change your network settings > Click on Set up a new connection or network
Step 3: On the Choose a connection option box > Select Manually connect to a wireless network > Click Next
Step 4: On the Enter information for the wireless network you want to add box
- Network Name: Enter the network name (must be typed in exactly the same way with uppercase/lowercase letters matched)
- Security type: Select WPA2-Enterprise
- Click on Next
Step 5: On the Successfully added Network Name box
- Click Change connect settings
- Click on the Security Tab
- Under Choose a network authentication method > Select Microsoft: EAP-TTLS > Click on Settings
Step 6: Find Client authentication > Under the first dropdown "Select a non-EAP method for authentication Select Microsoft CHAP Version 2 (MS-CHAP v2) > Click OK
Step 7: Back on the already open Security tab box > Click on Advanced settings
CHECK the box Specify authentication mode > Under the dropdown select User Authentication > Click on Save credentials
Step 8: In the Save credentials box enter your username and password > Click Ok.
The mouse may appear to spin, just click Ok and it will stops.
You'll need to click on OK on any open windows (or Close).
Now you can connect to the network the way you would normally:
Step 9: Left click on the wireless symbol on the bottom right hand corner to bring up the Networks menu.
Step 10: Select and connect to the [PROPERTY]-Residents network. You may be prompted to Click Connect twice.
Now you should be connected.
